So I had been thinking about contributing to the OTW wiki.

Ugh.
I'd feel a little better about it if they had left any room for doubt that THIS IS THE CORRECT DEFINITION, so fuck you all. That they included space for the terminology debate would make me happy - if they had even implied the resolution was anything other than HA HA YOU FUCKERS ARE WRONG. Especially since I'd been going along under the impression the resolution was "hey, everyone use it how you want and let's all stop being assholes".
(And yes, wiki, anyone can edit, blah blah blah. There are still issues of feeling welcome and as if your viewpoint has a place)

Why are people incapable of dealing with "bandom" without being asses? HOW HARD IS IT to say "these people use it this way, those people use it that way, there was this big debate".
And...at least when FH handled it poorly (I think actively using eBandom was a poor handling) it was in the middle of the nasty round of the debate, with all these bad feelings of FUCK YOU GUYS on both sides. There's no nastiness this time, a reasonable cease-fire was reached...BUT NO, it is beyond people to be reasonable about this.

Haha. I wrote up the debate (which is now being moved to a separate page EVEN AS WE SPEAK/TYPE) and I'm actually...enjoying the discussions on the talk pages about what should be merged moved what have you.
